'Quixote and Sancho at Dawn' Art Gallery Paintings View by Style Other Styles Surrealist ![]()
A tree extends a protective
branch over Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, as they prepare
for battle. Inspired by "The Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote de
la Mancha" by Miguel de Cervantes, Rodolfo Medina captures the
brave spirit of this beloved and delusional personage who fights
windmills believing them to be fierce giants. Medina works with
oils, tar and gold powder to recreate the legendary characters,
their skinny horse and mule, and their windmill enemies.
Titled "Quijote y Sancho al amanecer" in Spanish; arrives with
wood frame.
