Adelita is a hero from the Mexican Revolution (1911) who fought alongside men for the benefit of her family. Literally meaning "little Adela," she is usually portrayed with a long skirt and white blouse with bullet belts across her chest. "My intention with this series of sculptures is to pay tribute to Mexico, my people and my roots," confides Padilla. Please note the possibility of slight cracks, caused by the firing process.
