Cuzco vases, 'Ancestral Visions' (set of 5) Home Decor Home Accessories Vases Cuzco Style Handpainted ![]()
Pre-Hispanic symbols in vivid hues speak of ancient Inca visions.
These colorful vases by the Huaman Paucar family tell colorful
stories on terra cotta. "The ancestral history of the Andes
is reflected in our ceramics," the artisan explains. "We put
into our work what we see and feel, such as
the colors of the sierra." Displayed together or separately, they
are a handsome addition to any dcor. The Paucars
use traditional techniques to create the vases. The clay is
molded on a potter's wheel before the pieces are fired
at 900 degrees Celsius in a wood-burning kiln and meticulously
painted by hand using fine brushes. A coat of matte
lacquer protects each piece. Because each piece is crafted
individually, the product you receive may vary slightly in its
color and design.
